We've just booked our first trip to the ring this year: 27th and 28th February.
According to the ring website the Nordschleife is open all day on both days. This time of year it should be pretty quiet so a great time for any newbies to come.
Having said that - we tried to go in early last year in March and the dates changed. The Ring might also be under a foot of snow.
We've made sure that out hotel booking can be cancelled for free and we can move our tunnel booking as well.
We're staying in the Nurburg Congress and Motorsport Hotel. It's a very nice 4 star hotel and highly recommended. Lindner also have a 3 star just across the road. There are also loads of little B&B places dotted around the surrounding villages.
I'm working a half day on the Friday and we're getting the 15:20 tunnel. We reckon we'll be at Nurburg for about 20:00.
On the way back we'll leave the track at about 15:00 on the Sunday to get to the 20:50 crossing.
We can't wait - the M has been sitting doing nothing for a couple of months now and it'll be nice to get it back on a track (sorry: One way, de-restricted public toll road).
It would be nice to have some company if anyone else wants to come along.
